Another experienced hire to help drive business growth

Church House is delighted to announce another important step in its growth plans with the appointment of Johnny Fleming, who joins the company as a Client Director on 20th July.

Following in the footsteps of Robert Hunter, who joined CH from Brown Shipley’s Edinburgh office four years ago, and more recently, Marcus Brooks, who joined following the sale of his firm, Cornelian, to Brooks Macdonald, Johnny joins CH North after twenty-one years with Brewin Dolphin.

Johnny shared:

“I am immensely excited to be joining Church House at a pivotal time in its long history. After a long and happy spell at RBC Brewin Dolphin, I jumped at the opportunity to join a private and independent firm of the calibre of CHI, with whom I share a similar ethos. I am excited to help bolster their presence in the Borders, which is a region which deserves a more personal approach than many of the larger firms are able to offer.”

To facilitate the operations of this newly enlarged team in the Borders region and Scotland, we are also pleased to confirm the opening of an office in Kelso.

James Johnsen, Director and Head of Private Clients at Church House, commented:

“I am so pleased to be welcoming Johnny into our close-knit team in the Borders where he will bolster our presence in the North. I am delighted that he has chosen Church House for the next phase of his career and we look forward to welcoming him and his many connections into the business”.

Jerry Wharton, Chief Executive Officer of Church House, said:

“Attracting someone of the calibre of Johnny is another important step in the fulfilment of our vision for Church House as being a natural home for clients and their managers who appreciate both the refreshing freedom to act that our size and market position afford us and our highly personal approach, both increasingly rare attributes in today’s increasingly automated world”.

The combination of our backing from the Cayzer Trust Company and an experienced management team means we are well placed to achieve our ambitious growth plans. Our aim is to be the benchmark for success amongst independently-owned investment specialists. We hope to attract further talented investment professionals like Johnny, and look forward to seeing more people of his calibre joining in the near future.”
